Each day on the farm brings a new set of tasks to complete. At the dawning of another summer day, we laid out the day’s agenda. The first task was to mow one of the horse pastures. I opened gates to let my Cowboy drive the tractor and bush-hog through and I closed gates behind him. From the cool of shade, I watched as tall grass and weeds succumbed to the sharp blades of the mower. The action brought up mosquitoes and other flying insects from the dewy growth. Swarms of swallows appeared as if they had been summoned. They swooped like dive-bombers behind the bush-hog enjoying their feast of bugs. They didn’t have to plant the grass or propagate the bugs. Their only requirement was to show up for the feast.
How exciting it is when God gives us a real-life illustration of the teachings from His word:
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single day to his life?”
With certainty we can trust that our Father will meet all our needs. Praise Him.
